The Muslim community (globally) is in desperate need of representation. When our countries are continuously bombed and grave atrocities are committed against our civilians we have no one to speak up for us.
This responsibility - of speaking up in the name of justice and truth - can not be left up to “someone,” because the truth is that no one is willing to risk becoming “unpopular” by taking a stance on contentious issues.
This EXTREMELY important role needs to be handled by an institution; The Centre for Islamic Development is that institution!

The Centre for Islamic Development (CID) is working to bring about a generation of Muslims who will conduct themselves with good character, be affable, and ready to face the challenges which will present themselves - with depth and understanding.
Our Vision
Our vision for CID is to build an institution that does these two things exceptionally well:
# 1: The promotion and provision of the highest quality of education for Muslim children; through Ihsan Academy.
#2: The launch of various media programs that give a voice to the Muslim world.
Our History
The Centre for Islamic Development is a non-profit organization, founded in 1998.
The Secret to Getting Ahead is Getting Started!
The Centre for Islamic Development (CID) began by renting space in a local community centre in 1998.
With the generosity of many donors, we were (Alhamdolillah) able to purchase this building - which was originally a warehouse!
As soon as the renovations were complete, CID moved into its new home and opened Ihsan Academy (our Islamic school).
Dream It!
With the success of Ihsan Academy and CID’s community programs, we quickly out-grew our new location (previous image)!
For CID to take its programs to the next level we knew that there was no way around it; we would have to design a brand new building that would be capable of providing the community with what it needs most; education & representation!
Build It!
Imam Zia Khan lead the fundraising campaign with the entire community rallying together to make the vision a reality!
Grow It!
To keep the growth of CID as organic as possible, we designed the expansion to occur in two phases.
PHASE ONE: Build 60% of the structure to allow for the expansion of Ihsan Academy and CID programs.
PHASE TWO: Once we are again running at capacity (which Alhamdolillah we currently are), build the remaining 40% of the structure to complete the expansion project.
